Der Piepenmoker Eckhard Seemann ist am 05. Dezember 2012 plötzlich und für alle unerwartet verstorben.

Der Pfeifenbau war für meinen Vater eine Tätigkeit die ihm in den letzten Jahren seines Lebens viel Freude bereitet hat. Nicht nur, dass er seine Zeit mit sinnvoller Arbeit ausfüllen konnte, die ihm auch viel Spass bereitete und forderte. Es waren auch insbesondere die stets sehr positiven Rückmeldungen der ca. 200 Piepenmoker Kunden, die ihn erfreuten und motivierten.

Ich möchte allen Kunden, Interessenten und Newsletter-Abonnenten meinen Dank aussprechen. Die stete Nachfrage und Aufmerksamkeit für die Arbeiten meines Vater haben sein Handwerk möglich gemacht und erhalten.

Welcome to Piepenmoker

On this website I present tobacco pipes out of my own production. All pipes are so-called Freehand Pipes, that is hand-crafted, unique pipes. I manufacture the pipes in my workshop in Putlitz, a small town in Germany in the state of Brandenburg.

One aspect of the quality of a pipe is the grade of the wooden surface. It is mainly in the final steps of the manufacturing process that flaws (enclosures) buried in the wood become apparent. The smaller the number of flaws in the grain and the less visible they are, the higher the quality. I therefore divide the pipes I made into three categories:

- Category A - no visible flaws
- Category B - only very small visible flaws
- Category C - visible flaws

The category only describes the visual quality of the wood surface and not the workmanship. A category C pipe is manufactured with the same care and dedication as a category A pipe.
